Access

Boarding in LYONS

Boarding quay:

Quai Claude Bernard below the universities, on the Rhone between the Pont de l'Université and the Pont Gallieni.

By air:

closest airport: LYON ST EXUPERY. We advise you to take a taxi to get to the quay, which is a distance of around 30 km. You can also take the shuttle, which will drop you off at Perrache railway station where you should take the tram ? line T1 ? and get off at the next station: Claude Bernard.

By train:

closest station LYON PERRACHE. Situated in the city centre, it will allow you access to the main areas of interest in Lyons. To get to the boat, we advise you to take the tram ? line T1 ? getting off at the Claude Bernard stop.
From LYON PART DIEU station: take a taxi or leave the station via the Porte Vivier Merle exit and take the tram - line T1 - for Perrache and get off at Claude Bernard.

Boarding in CHALON SUR SAONE

Boarding quay:

Quai Gambetta.

By train:

closest station CHALON SUR SAONE. We advise you to take a taxi.

Boarding in ARLES

Boarding quay:

Quai Lamartine.

By train:

closest station ARLES. Cross the large square opposite the station and you will come to the boarding quay.

Boarding in MARTIGUES

Boarding quay:

Avenue Louis Sammut (near the Town Hall).

By air:

closest airport: MARSEILLE MARIGNANE. Take a taxi to get to the boat.

By train

closest station MARTIGUES. NB: this station is not very well served. You will have to take a taxi to get to the quay. You can also take a taxi from MARSEILLES station.

Boarding in Avignon

Boarding quay:

Allée de l'Ouille.

By train:

closest station AVIGNON VILLE. You will have to take a taxi to get to the quay.

Animals

For everyone's comfort and for reasons of hygiene and safety, animals are not allowed on board. Thank you for your understanding.

Money on board

All payments on board are in euro (cash, bank cards ? Visa, Eurocard, Mastercard, American Express but not Diners Club ? cheques). There are no currency exchange facilities or ATMs on the boat.

Climate

Rhone Valley:

Mediterranean climate. Despite the heat in summer, the evenings can be very cool. The Rhone valley is known for being very windy (the Mistral!).

Formalities*

For people of French nationality there are no particular formalities. We recommend, however, that you carry your identity papers with you. Other nationalities should refer to the authorities concerned.
Babies and children must also have valid identification or be included on their parents' passport (possible up to 14 years of age).

*Valid on the date of printing January 2006.
NB: If you are travelling by air, you will be asked for valid identification.
